ITSoLCA Batch 2 was successfully conducted.
Life cycle assessment and life cycle perspectives has started to be implemented in many ways in Indonesia, such as through Sustainable Development Goal (particularly goal #12 i.e. Sustainable Consumption and Production), the new version of Environmental Management Systems ISO 14001:2015, Ecolabel, green labelling, sustainable development tools, environmental product declarations, and the upcoming Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Very soon everything will be based on life cycle perspectives and industry has to adapt with the new perspective.
The Indonesian Life Cycle Assessment Network (ILCAN) in collaboration with Life Cycle Indonesia conducted the 2nd ILCAN Training on Life Cycle Assessment (ITSoLCA): "Introduction to Life Cycle Assessment and Tools" on 12-13 October 2016 at Hotel Pullman Jakarta Central Park.

The 2nd training was participated by more diverse type of participants, they were from academia, NGO, government and industry. This 2nd training was dominated by the industry participants.
The participants showed great enthusiasm. They were more active than expected, made the training more interactive, which built up good discussions between trainers and participants. The first session on first day of training was started by Dr. Edi Iswanto Wiloso (Puslit Kimia LIPI; ILCAN Chairman). He explained about the importance and concept of LCA, from the background (such as business driver and environmental product and labelling) to the core point of LCA concept. At the end of his session, he gave a group exercise to the participants, in a meaning to encourage them to try implementing the given LCA concept.
